Basic Instructions for Auto-Rx® and
Instructions for High-Mileage Vehicles

For vehicles in good condition with less than 100,000 miles. This will work for stuck rings, most stuck lifters, and many other situations that are under forced (pressurized) circulation. NOT FOR SLUDGE! Vehicles with more than 100,000 miles will require a second application (2 bottles total).

STEP 1 For sump capacity motors of 4-6 quarts, add the entire contents of one 12-fl.oz. bottle of Auto-Rx® into a fresh oil change with a new filter installed. Use conventional oil or a Group III mineral-oil based oil.
STEP 2 Operate the vehicle under normal driving conditions for 3,000 miles. Allow Auto-Rx® to safely clean as you drive.
STEP 3 Change out the oil and oil filter. Again, fill with conventional oil or a mineral-oil based Group III oil. DO NOT ADD Auto-Rx® here.
STEP 4 Drive the vehicle for 3,000 miles. This is the rinse phase. After accumulating the 3,000 miles, your application is done.
  • IN VEHICLES WITH HIGH MILEAGE, over 100,000, we recommend running a second application.

  • FOR HEAVILY SLUDGED MOTORS, we recommend changing the oil filter only at the halfway point of driving in Step 2. This will prevent the filter from overloading contaminants and operating in the bypass mode.

  • IF YOU ARE USING THE PRODUCT TO STOP A ROTARY ENGINE SEAL LEAK, it is imperative to run conventional oil or a Group III mineral oil to achieve desired results.

  • IN SEVERELY SLUDGED MOTORS, OR IN COLLECTOR CARS DRIVEN SPARINGLY, we offer a Fast-Track application. Please visit the Fast-Track application page.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT THEIR AUTO-RX® EXPERIENCE:
"By the way, this really is an amazing product. This is the second time I’ve run a full cleaning in my ’01 Saturn SL2 (203,000 miles), and I can tell the difference after just 400 miles. Huge increase in power, and the engine doesn’t sound like it’s wheezing for life when I step hard on the gas. I may be crazy, but it seems to me that I’m getting the same power output as I did before adding Auto-RX at lower RPMs. Normally, I have to take her up to 4,000 RPMs or so to climb some of the hills in East TN/Western NC, and now she’s climbing without a complaint at 3,500 RPMs or so. Thanks."
