I drive a '94 Plymouth Voyager with a 4-speed 4WD automatic transmission. My van would not run in drive until the vehicle completely warmed up, and even then it would stick in first gear at times. I changed out the filter and fluid, but there was hardly any improvment. After adding a bottle of your Auto-Rx, my car began to shift properly within 50 miles. Every day it seems to run a little smother. I'm sure that by the time I put a thousand miles on it as per your directions, it will run like a new transmission. Thank you again. . . .  See more comments on transmissions >>

FAQs about Auto-Rx® in Transmissions

Seal Leaks, Engines, and Transmissions

Why is a single treatment all that is needed?
Transmission deposits are much easier dissolved by Auto-Rx® when compared to engine deposits because the transmission is basically a sealed unit. Deposit formations are not complex, as they are in a motor. Motor deposits are more complex due to combustion gases and blow-by and airborne contaminants ingested into the oil, such as dirt and moisture.

How much does a bottle of Auto-Rx hold?
Each bottle contains 12 fluid ounces.

Auto-Rx® and Overfilling
Auto-Rx® is the same chemistry for transmissions as for engines, but the ratio changes. Transmission fluid is highly viscous hydraulic fluid in a sealed unit, and 6 ounces of Auto-Rx® is all that is needed, and the fluid reservoir should have sufficient room to add the Auto-Rx®. Please visit our TRANSMISSIONS page for more information. We recommend checking the fluid level before proceeding.

Why do the folks at Auto-Rx® prefer the T-TEC procedure to change out transmission fluid?
Because the T-TEC procedure replaces 100% of the transmission's old fluid. This is important when considering that traditional ATF services drain only a little more than 30% of the old fluid, leaving nearly 70% in the transmission to mix with the new. T-TEC connects through the transmission cooler lines and provides a clean, environmentally friendly, systematic approach to servicing automatic transmissions. The unit will flush virtually all of the old transmission fluid and replace it with the new fluid while the engine is idling.

Do I need to change the transmission filter?
Too often, the transmission filter is confused in its performance with that of an oil filter. In most vehicles, the filter resembles that of a bug screen to catch pieces of large particles or contaminants. After observing many applications of Auto-Rx® using T-Tec to remove the liquefied contaminants, we don't believe it is necessary to remove the filter (if your transmission even has one).

Does Auto-Rx® work with manual transmissions?
Yes. The application ratio is one ounce of Auto-Rx® per quart of oil. After installing the Auto-Rx®, drive 1,000 miles and then drain out the oil and Auto-Rx® mixture. Refill with the transmission oil of your choice or as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. The application is complete for the life of your manual transmission. See our instructions for manual transmission application.

What are some other applications that Auto-Rx® works with?
Auto-Rx® is extremely effective in cleaning and improving the performance of your gasoline or diesel engine. Auto-Rx® also works effectively in your power steering unit. There are many other applications, from compressors to printing presses to all types of stationary and mobile engines. For more information on these other applications, please email us.

Is Auto-Rx® for transmissions the same as Auto-Rx® for engines?
Yes, it is the same product.
